1. Painting.

In many applications it is desirable to use color sheets KOMATEX. Color is easy for changing, having applied a paint. The paints put on KOMATEX well stick. Depending on type of a paint and a method of drawing it is possible to reach a glossy or satiny surface, and also are possible metal tone and effects of structure.

  • How to clean KOMATEX
    
    Basically, a dirt and spots can be removed with KOMATEX without difficulties. One exception are the spots left by solvents.
    For removal of a dust and a dirt which is dissolved in water, it is possible to use soap or simple water. If to add antistatic substance accumulation of a dirt can be lowered in a greater degree.
    To remove other spots, for example, from a pencil, the handle, oil, nonaggressive organic solvent or a dissolving mix approaches.
    However, one clause concerning to spots from aggressive solvents should be made. For example, the inscriptions made by some felt-tip pens, cannot be completely removed through any time.
    
    
  • Antistatic processing KOMATEX
    
    As majority other plastics, KOMATEX it is inclined to accumulate an electrostatic charge. It causes sticking a dirt and a dust, and in some cases stirs to following processing of a material, especially in case of a press and colouring. Moreover, the reference with the charged sheets very unpleasantly and categories which occur at presence some solvent, can even cause explosions.
    
    However, the undesirable electric charge can be prevented by suitable measures. For this purpose exists two different technologies:
    - Processing by antistatic substances
    - Processing by an ionizer
    
    
    • Processing by antistatic substances:
      
      Antistatic substances are the spirit or water solutions forming on a surface of a leaf a thin antistatic film.
      They are put either immersing of a surface, or dispersion, or wiping of a surface by a fabric moistened in a solution of antistatic. They are effective right after evaporations of solvent. Antistatic substances are available at any manufacturers of paints, and also at suppliers of plastics.
      As not all antistatic substances are compatible to all paints and ink for silk-screen printings, it is necessary to consult to the supplier. Effect from antistatic substances changeable. At storage of a leaf it remains effective long enough time but if, for example, a leaf have touched, or it has become wet, the effect is lost.
      
      
    • Processing by an ionizer:
      
      - The ionizer is an application of an electricity which ionizes air on a surface of object, thus destroying an electrostatic charge.
      - Such equipment happens different types and various design. Ionizers are simple and problemless in use, borrow not enough place. Except for the electric equipment there is another, on a nuclear energy (harmless). An image of action basically the same.
      - Processing by an ionizer does not influence compatibility with process of colouring and with ink for silk-screen printing.
      - Antistatic effect from an ionizer changeable. It will be neutralized at friction or a contact of a leaf. As a rule, therefore this method is combined during manufacture.
• Work
  
  As paints are delivered in the concentrated kind, it is necessary to dilute them according to the instruction of the supplier. It is possible to put a paint a brush or the platen. Basically, paint dispersion. Pressure of a spray from 3 up to 4 bar, an aperture of an atomizer 1,5 - 2mm in diameter. It is possible to put many paints on a leaf at once. For others the first coat is required. In all cases it is necessary to adhere to instructions of the manufacturer.
  
  
• Drying
  
  KOMATEX is a thermoplastic and consequently it cannot be dried in the furnace. Accordingly it is possible to use only the paints which are drying up on air. After drawing a paint. The surface usually dries up in 30 minutes at a room temperature. Full drying occurs approximately in 24 hours.
  
  
• Quantity
  
  The demanded quantity depends on type of a paint and thickness of a layer. In most cases enough one layer. Therefore it is required about 150 g/m? Not diluted paint.
  
  
• Advice on application
  
  Experience has shown, that in some cases drawing of a paint leads to reduction of crashworthiness of a leaf. It from a part is true for the paints containing aggressive solvents, or for those paints which become fragile at drying. It is necessary to consult with a software supplier to selection of suitable type of a paint and the best conditions for drawing.
