Now actylic sheet (organic) gless is one of the most used sheet polymeric materials. Represents transparent, lightproof or light-scattering with a different degree светопропускания sheets with ideally glossy surface from both parties, thickness from 1,0 up to 24 mm. They can be painted " in weight ", and the possible color scale of sheets let out today is practically unlimited. One of the parties of a leaf acrylic glasses can be corrugated (" a chipped ice ", fine and large corrugation "prismatic", "pinspot","drop" , etc.) or to have patches of light processing.
The term "plexiglas" represents most likely the unifying term and is applied more often by nonprofessionals - in a life, for example. With plexiglas equally it is possible to name practically any transparent plastic: acryle, polystyrene, the DIGNITY, polycarbonate, PVC and even (with the certain stretch) polypropylene or polythene. All is "glasses" - that is transparent sheet materials (at least, can be those). And all of them organic - that is are derivative products of petrochemistry. But at the same time a difference between them enormous, and in chymical-physical characteristics, and in methods of processing, and in spheres of their application, and in cost. There is only one justification to the term "plexiglas" which it is possible to mean the general name of any transparent polymer. But all more often, especially in the advertising environment, meets use of the term "plexiglas" as synonym to acrylic glass.
In territory of the CIS countries and abroad exist various общеупотребимые terms for a designation, in general, the same materials. "Polymethyl methacrylat (PMMA)" - because an initial product in manufacture of this polymer is monomeasures methylmethacrylat ( a methyl ether methacrylic acids). "Plexiglas", "organic glass" - because on appearance and on application is similar to usual silicate glass (but received of products of organic chemistry). "Acryle" or "acrylic glass" - because is made their organic products-derivatives acrilic acids. "Plexiglass", "plex" - because this material for the first time has been received in Germany in 30th years in firm "Rohm" and has received the firm name "Plexiglas" (plastic, flexible glass).
The chemical compound of plexiglas at all manufacturers is identical. An another matter when it is necessary to receive a material with different specific properties: shock-resistant (anticrash), light-scattering, transparent, soundproof, UV-protection, heat-resistant etc. . Then during reception of a sheet material its structure can be changed or in it the corresponding components providing a complex of necessary characteristics can be added.
In the Europe, America and Asia there are many manufacturers of plexiglas which is letting out this material under various trade marks: Plexiglas ("Рем", Germany), Perspex ("ICI", England), Moden Glas ("ICI", Thailand), Altuglas ("Атоглас", France-Holland), Deglas ("Дегусса", Germany), Akrylon ("ПХЗ", Slovakia). In Russia sheets from plexiglas are issued at a factory "Plexiglas" (Dzerzhinsk) under marks СЭП (extrusion glass, TU 2216-213-05757593-94) and TOSP (block, "injection" glass, GOST 17622-72). All these marks of plexiglas (excepting special which have differences depending on firm-manufacturer) under the basic operational characteristics differ from each other a little. During too time, different firms-manufacturers use for reception of sheet plexiglas the various equipment, technology, packing, raw materials, additives, turbid, dyes and, accordingly, are available small distinctions between final materials.
Inside of polymeric group PMMA concern to thermoplastics, consisting of macromolecules with the linear or branched out structure. At a room temperature thermoplastics are in a is firm-viscous condition, at heating are softened up to a condition of fluidity and again hardening at cooling. The thermoplastics are possible to melt down, to subject plastic morphogenes and to dissolve.
Today the acrylic glass which has deserved owing to the uncommon properties excellent reputation all over the world, is one of the most popular among transparent and translucent sheet polymeric materials and application in many areas of our life - construction and design, in automobile, aviation, sanitary finds, motor industry and is simple in a life. Plexiglas is widely applied in manufacture of various ad publications and designs - from price list of holders, souvenirs and tablets up to city signboards, huge volumetric letters and completely volumetric thermoforming breadboard models of advertised production with internal illumination, in the lighting industry. Opportunities of acrylic glasses have caused development of such spheres as manufacture of the forming equipment, various fixing profile systems, etc.
The correct choice of concrete plastic allows to make a product of the modern design, having high durability, lighting and other characteristics and, at the same time, the low cost price, as competitiveness of all product in the domestic market defines.
