|
Squeege - is a tool from the soft and elastic polymer, intended for accurate and careful work with vinylic autodhesive all types and for their dense grinding in to "difficult" surfaces. At width of a film up to 5 sm or at a small graphic representation not necessarily, smoothing of a film it is possible to make use of the auxiliary tool an edge of a palm or a soft fabric.
In many cases the most widespread squeege is simple one-or the two-plane plate from not bending plastic in width 10 - 12 see This type squeege is usually applied on flat surfaces. It is necessary to have in view of, that if plastic insufficiently rigid, or worn out and has jaggies on the pasted film can arise alveoles and wrinkles.
Work with squeegee:
- it is necessary to arrange under a corner 45o to a surface and it is not necessary to press very strongly on it at work.
- Smoothing begins from the center of the image, then short movements in a direction to its edges. Thus it is impossible to suppose, that not pasted vinyl adjoined to a surface on which should be put the schedule.
- After end of application it is desirable to smooth once again a film with greater effort (crossed movements). For this purpose it is used squeege, wrapped up by a special cover that will prevent formation of scratchs on the image. It is possible to wrap up the ends squeegee a teflon tape, a soft fabric or even application film, that not only will promote protection against damages, but also will provide good sliding at work.
Requirements to squeegee:
Best results of drawing are reached only good squeegee which condition it is necessary to watch.
It is impossible to use squeegee with roughnesses on edges. It is not necessary to use the same squeegee for application a film and for drawing vinyl. If edges squeegee have worn out, it is necessary to grind or replace them squeegee. Usually plastic squeegees it is possible to grind, wipes its edge about a flute on other squeegee. But if edges are worn strongly out, it is better to not use such squeegee in general.
At work with an industrial hair drier or with hot surfaces it is necessary to avoid possible melting away the working tool.
